Swivel Doors

Through my practice as an architect, I have learned how to transform virtual matter into material, how to think in various algorithms and have a semi-methodical approach towards the creative process, mostly of which happens only in the mind and never touches the surface. The invisible labor that gives the strength to resist, and say NO to what feels wrong. The need to absorb the knowledge of the world and be lured by curiosity gave me freedom to shape thoughts through clay, sound, drawing and written words. The need to create, talk through symbols and be closer to the body that feels and creates new chemical formulas with every breath gives me reason to create a world of my own. A world in which I don’t need to rely on hostile, patriarchal, cisgender, alpha human narratives. To reign and recreate the inner world, damaged by oppression and dominance. That, I believe, is the reason for every work of art. The Swivel Door was initially produced in my dream, in my Berlin apartment overlooking the TV Tower in September of 2014.
