These Works are part of the series Mezquitas de Puerto Rico, a series of hand-woven pile and kilim rugs depicting mosques in different towns of Puerto Rico: Hatillo, Vega Alta, Fajardo, Rio Piedras, and Ponce. The mosques were located and photographed by me and Jesús “Bubu” Negrón, and later handed over to a tribe of weavers in Mashhad, Iran, to be interpreted.
