A barra de ballet está livre + Speech about the Sun
2016I think my research is based on a broad interest in the concept of outer space, between the things around it as well as a notion of place and position. A place that is demarcated, transitory, ephemeral, built etc.; I can mention several associations that come up, but I am sure that every project—whether completed or not—is directly related to the need for its occurrence. I always work departing from some spatial data, for example, the size of a room or the country where my work will be presented.
In this 20th Festival, I present two installations: Speech About the Sun and The Ballet Bar is Free. Both communicate with its surroundings, although they were not directly conceived for Sesc Pompeia. In Speech About the Sun, I propose an installation with several different objects, figures and ornaments. The set of pieces produces an environment that exists in equal measure as a stage and a place of silent observation, even as a space of vision (in the sense of imagination).
In The Ballet Bar is Free, the measure of space is thought as something different from its architectural reference, due to an experimental use linked to the measurements of the human body. The public observes the structures and imagines their bodies being guided by those lines drawn in space. Aspects related to form and material, such as horizontal and vertical lines, weight and proportion forces, constructive structures, materiality and color, visual and point of view organization were fundamental in the creation process.

The references in the universe of the arts are directly linked to the studies of geometry since its origin, sacred or not, which also covers other fields of knowledge. The references of dance are mainly those that stem from the transformations occurred in modern dance in the early 20th century.
